What kind of feelings does this photo evoke in your soul?  Do this child's haunted eyes make you wonder what they're thinking?  Do you even wonder what is in that spoon?  Do you even care?

When I look at this child, I wonder where their mother is.  Where is their father?  How old are they?  When was the last time they ate a sandwich?  Drank a glass of clean water?  Food stuffs that I take for granted.

When I am preparing dinner for my boys, I have the luxury of going to the fridge and pantry, select the food stuffs I need to make our meal and off I go.  My children sit back sated, their bellies full, a smile on their faces.

And this little child, a spoonful of what?  Isn't it about time that we took a stand and fought for what every human being deserves?  A healthy meal three times a day and enough clean drinking water to drink at whim.  Isn't it about time that we stopped to think that these children are the innocent victims of war, famine, etc?  Isn't it about time that these children are given a chance to build a future?  They are the future of our world and they deserve a chance as much as our children.
